Who can participate
EMMA target beneficiaries
The target beneficiaries of EMMA are:
- Target 1: students and academic staff registered in one of the universities members of the partnership
- Target 2: asians of the countries of the partnership registered at a Higher Education Institution NOT included in the partnership or having obtained a degree or equivalent from an institution in their country (which may be a partner or not). This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to nationals of the Asian countries in the partnership who are working in public administration and public and private enterprises
- Target 3: Asians of the countries of the partnership in vulnerable situations. It may cover mobility for students holding the respective nationality and:
- having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries), or
- being able to prove that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination reasons, or
- belonging to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy.
EMMA beneficiaries
- You are preparing a Bachelor degree in one the Asia partner university:
you may get full support to spend one semester or one year in an EMMA-EPU as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university - You are preparing a Master degree in one the Asia partner university:
you may get full support to spend one semester or one year in an EMMA-EPU as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university - You are preparing a Doctorate (PhD) in one the Asia partner university:
you may get full support to spend one year in an EMMA European partner university as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university - You wish to prepare a Master degree or a Doctorate in a European university (TG1, TG2 ):
you may get full support to spend two years (Master) or three years (Doctorate) in one the EMMA European partner universities and get your degree from your host university - You are in a particularly vulnerable situation (TG3):
you may even get full support for one full cycle (Bachelor, Master or Doctorate) in one the EMMA European partner universitie - You finished recently (not more than two years) your Doctorate (PhD):
you may get full support to spend 6 months in one of the EMMA European partner universities laboratory (Postdoc) - You are staff-member of one of the EMMA Asia partner university:
you may get full support to spend one month in one EMMA European partner universities for improving your personal skills and your knowledge of the European Higher Education system.
Restrictions
The following restrictions apply:
- In order to be an elegible candidate, you must have not resided nor have carried out your main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries.
- No student, and no academic staff member can benefit from more than one mobility activity within the same project.
- Mobility flows for student and academic staff between institutions in the Asian countries of the partnership are NOT eligible. Mobility must go from Asia to Europe.
